- Friend: What have you been doing today?
- Me: I've been reading Sherlock Holmes, and it has all these references to historical events I've never heard of, like the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and the Andaman Islands, so I've been researching them...
- Her: Blank stare, smile, nod, back away.
- Me: Oh, right...um, I should probably look at job postings (I then realized, and did not mention, I was wearing sweatpants over pajamas from when I moved the car for street cleaning. Mon Dieu.)
